Brookes on a Friday…

Peter Brookes’ Friday cartoon is online already, and it’s very good indeed.
It’s clever, poignant and sums up the story perfectly in one frame. I bet you there will be dozens articles in tomorrow’s papers explaining how the public perception of crime doesn’t match the recorded crime figures, but none will get the point across as sharply as this.

On top of that it’s actually a rather difficult story to do cartoons about, as it’s not remotely amusing, has no political face fronting it, and so much has been done on knife crime already over the past couple of weeks that the story in terms of cartooning has become very tired.

Very impressive.
