From the Paper: Building Billing Britain’s Future..

One of those days today when I came up with a dozen ways of making this cartoon better only minutes after filing it. Not uncommon of course, but it’s more annoying than usual…
But there you go. Can’t linger.
Happens.
Eh…
From the Sketchbook: Evil…
June 19, 2009According to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the UK Government is now the most evil of all – which means the US surely will have to relinquish the title “The Great Satan.”
Given what British politicians in general, and the Government in particular, are being called by the public at the moment, I have a feeling Gordon Brown might choose to redact the last word and simply enjoy “The Great.”

Spectating…
June 13, 2009
A quiet ambition of mine has been to do the cover of a magazine such as the Spectator, and this week it that ambition was realised.
To my surprise and delight I got to do their Zombie edition.
Probably the least visually appealing cover they’ve ever had, but good fun to do!
Regretfully Blears…
June 12, 2009Good grief.
Hazel Blears on TV talking about her regrets.
She regrets enormously apparently, her rather good “YouTube if you want to” article in the Observer.
She regrets the timing of her resignation, and effectively takes the blame for Labours appalling election results.
It’s unpleasant viewing.
She looks like someone who’s been bullied into submission.
But then again, that’s a rather common look among people who at some stage has crossed Gordon Brown and his crew…
Good cartoons on a Wednesday…
June 10, 2009There are some excellent ones in the papers today, about Peter “The Rt Hon Lord of Hartlepool and Foy: First Secretary of State, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and Lord President of the Council” Mandelson’s Cabinet of minions.
His Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, features in most of the cartoons.
Peter Brookes focuses on Mandy aka Blofeld. A somewhat overused simile perhaps, but in this case it seems entirely appropriate – and funny!
I particularly like Dave Brown’s cartoon in the Indy.
Garland in the Telegraph has essentially done the same idea, but with his customary literary/historical reference.
Steve Bell goes for the puerile approach – with great effect.
Good times…
